La Pastoral Social es el servicio por el cual la Iglesia se hace presente en la Sociedad para orientar y promover el desarrollo integral del hombre, mediante su doctrina Social. El servicio debe tener un punto de referencia en la realidad de cada comunidad y debe ser con Calidad, Amor y Justicia. Toda estructura Humana (Social, Politica, Economica, Familiar, etc.) genera marginados. La Pastoral Social debera dar el salto de la Asistencia a la promocion humana de cuerpo, espiritu y mente. Esto se dara cumpliendo en tiempo y espacio la obra de Jesus sirviendo a sus ovejas. El Objetivo General del Plan Diocesano de Pastoral " DINAMIZAR EL ENCUENTRO CON JESUCRISTO VIVO, CAMINO PARA LA CONVERSION, LA COMUNION Y LA SOLIDARIDAD, EN ORDEN A CONSTRUIR EL REINO DE DIOS EN EL MUNDO, PROMOVIENDO INTEGRALMENTE AL HOMBRE Y A LA MUJER DE HOY, EN EL ESPIRITU DE LA NUEVA EVANGELIZACION" De aqui se establece el Objetivo Especifico de la Pastoral Social : PROPONER Y FORTALECER, DESDE EL ENCUENTRO CON JESUCRISTO VIVO, PROCESOS EVANGELIZADORES ENCARNADOS EN EL CONTEXTO SOCIAL DEL HOMBRE Y DE LA MUJER DE HOY, PARA QUE SE COMPROMETAN A TRANSFORMAR LAS ESTRUCTURAS TEMPORALES, HASTA LOGRAR LA COMUNION Y LA SOLIDARIDAD COMO EXPRESION DEL REINO DE DIOS.
